28 May 2026 – Young Talent Shines at Cape Town Surfriders Trials
The future of South African surfing continues to look exceptionally promising following the recent Cape Town Surfriders and Western Province Regional Trials.
Among the standout performers were several young surfers competing in the Under-12 division, with some athletes still under the age of ten.
What impressed coaches most was not only their surfing ability but also their confidence, maturity, coachability, and genuine love for the sport.
Over recent weeks these young surfers have consistently demonstrated performances beyond their years, showing strong technical skills, commitment to improvement, and an infectious enthusiasm for the ocean.
As coaches, it is a privilege to work alongside these athletes and help guide their development both as competitive surfers and as young individuals growing through the sport.
The next generation is already making its presence felt.
